On the occasion of the traditional Christmas concert at the French Embassy in Italy, at the Farnese Palace, the Marguerite Louise Ensemble was invited to play several baroque pieces in a concert dedicated to the Franco-Italian friendship, as well on the substance as on the form.
In this recording, you will discover the most beautiful French and Italian pieces celebrating Christmas, in harmony, from Marc-Antoine Charpentier to Giacomo Carissimi. Physical, linguistic, and cultural boundaries are erased in the face of the communion of joy that this holiday calls for.
This performance was attended by the French Ambassador to Italy, Catherine Colonna, and by the President of the Château de Versailles, Catherine Pégard. By their side, many Italian spectators came to celebrate culture and friendship between the two countries - a friendship already reflected in the past through the mutual influence that France and Italy exerted on the Baroque arts.
A concert co-produced by Château de Versailles Spectacles, Ozango, and the Marguerite Louise Ensemble, in partnership with the French Embassy in Italy and the Institut Français.
